Reaching almost all the corners of Thailand. There’s a long story about each of those little stars, perhaps the longest is the one at the very bottom - a 20 hour bus ride from Songkla to Khon Kaen to get an Unlimbited Arm from us.

Introducing the PIEBAND
We made this for people with limb differences who just want to use a pencil or play a guitar without the need of a cumbersome prosthetic device.
Our first version was created for an artist in Cambodia and we further refined it with the help a very creative girl named Pie who was already playing the guitar with a pick attached to a fabric armband.
The Pieband is simple wristwatch-like band that has a socket that accepts a variety of attachments: a guitar pick holder. a pencil holder, a utensil holder, a toothbrush holder - all included in the files. We plan to make more attachments as well as improve the design based on feedback from Pie and other wearers.
The band comes in two versions: version 1 is based on a Fitbit band ( thing:506469) we remixed in Tinkercad and version 2 was completely created in Tinkercad and requires straps. For straps we used the 3D universe 12"x 1" velcro strap but there are many other options out there. Version 1 has 2 sizes and we will add more as we go along if feedback suggests smaller or larger sizes are needed.
Both bands are printed in TPU flexible filament - it makes the snapping together of the attachments easier.
Many of the attachments included were created using Volksswitch excellent Customizable Universal Cuff Utensil holder:

we then added a rotating connector to the attachments in Tinkercad.
With Pie's help we are already thinking about a version 2 and improvements. She wants a stiffer pen holder and if you want to increase the friction in the ball joint, a fix is to print the pie band 5% smaller or use a harder material.

Thai Reach - year one
We’re half way through our second year but feeling a little nostalgic for the crazy hectic busy first year.
...No, we like this slower paced year just fine.
At the Exponential Manufacturing Thailand 2019
We will be showing our work at the Exponential Manufacturing Thailand 2019 Summit next week taking place at the INTERCONTINENTAL BANGKOK HOTEL. We will also be assisting Jon Schull, making a return trip to Thailand to speak at the conference. Hope to see you there.

Carwin’s Story
His name is Carwin, late 20s from Phetchabun, Thailand. He was a welder and lost both arms and nearly his life after an Electric shock working on a rooftop framing job. He has been jobless for 2 years since the accident, living on $25 a month with a wife and daughter.
One of our members “Ball”, who runs a 3D printer shop in Khon Kaen was contacted thru Facebook about Carwin’s situation and he printed the two Unlimbited Arms using printers he designed himself
Yesterday Carwin shared a video of him feeding and drinking by himself for the first time since the accident. He hopes to use his regained ability to start a small fish farm and earn a living. Everyone apart of Team Unlimbited and E-Nable has helped someone who had absolutely nothing, live again.

Meeting with Sai Jai Thai
Members of Sai Jai Thai visited the Monday, meeting staff and recipients of our work. Sai Jai Thai is a foundation run by Princess Sirindhorn to help disabled veterans. After the Princess saw our work and the 3D printed designs by Team UnLimbited and E-Nable in December, she invited Thai Reach tofind ways to help the 4000 Vets in Sai Jai Thai.
On Monday we officially entered into a partnership with Sai Jai Thai - starting small but with big plans for the future. We hope to share our ideas and work to better aid accessibility for all people with disabilities.
